Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

ResumeWalk operates on a credit-based model. Credits are consumed when you use AI-powered features (resume generation, AI polish, job optimization, cover letters, etc.). This policy explains when credits or payments may be refunded and under what circumstances they are non-refundable.

2. Free Credits

New accounts receive a promotional allocation of free credits at registration. These credits:

  • Have no monetary value and cannot be converted to cash.
  • Are non-transferable.
  • May expire or be modified at ResumeWalk's discretion, with notice provided on the website.
  • Are provided as a limited-time promotional offer and may be discontinued at any time.

3. Purchased Credits — General Rule

Credits that have been consumed by completed AI actions are non-refundable. Once an AI feature successfully generates output (a resume, cover letter, score, etc.), the corresponding credits are considered used, even if you are not satisfied with the quality of the AI-generated content.

This policy exists because each AI generation incurs real computational costs from our AI provider (Google Gemini). We cannot recover those costs, and therefore cannot refund credits for successfully completed generations.

4. Refunds for AI Failures

If an AI action fails due to a technical error on our side (e.g., the API returns an error, the generation produces no output, or the credits are deducted but no result is delivered), we will:

  • Automatically attempt to refund the credits to your account (our system detects failures and refunds instantly where possible).
  • If the automatic refund fails, contact support at info@resumewalk.com within 7 days of the incident with your account email and a description of what happened. We will investigate and restore credits within 5 business days.

5. Credit Package Refunds

For paid credit packages purchased via Stripe:

  • Unused packages: If you have not used any credits from a purchased package, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
  • Partially used packages: We will refund the proportional value of unused credits, minus a 10% processing fee, within 14 days of the original purchase date.
  • After 14 days: No refunds will be issued for any remaining unused credits.

To request a refund, email info@resumewalk.com with your purchase receipt and account email.

6. Subscription Plans

If ResumeWalk introduces subscription plans in the future, the following will apply unless stated otherwise:

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
  • No prorated refunds are issued for partial billing periods.
  • Annual subscriptions may be refunded within 14 days of the initial charge if you have not used any premium features.

7. Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or credit card provider, your account will be suspended pending investigation. Fraudulent chargebacks may result in permanent account termination. We encourage you to contact us directly to resolve any billing disputes before filing a chargeback.

8. How to Request a Refund

Email info@resumewalk.com with:

  • Subject: "Refund Request — [your account email]"
  • Your account email address
  • Purchase date and amount (or description of the AI failure)
  • Reason for the request

We aim to respond to all refund requests within 3 business days.
